The first series of this class has been a lot of fun to work on. It was interesting to look at a variety of different portfolio's created by students. I really liked that the portfolios that I found were mostly Instructional Technology portfolios because it provided groundwork for me to start and continue my portfolio. One of the portfolios that I did find was a little lackluster, but it is important to see the lackluster portfolios so I know what not to include in my portfolio.
As for the culminating work piece, it is going to be a lot of work. Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of time this week to sit down and look at the work because I recently purchased a house. This means lot of running to get things done and papers to sign. After looking at the documents this weekend, I'm sure I will generate a list of ideas to possibly use for this culminating project.

Nick,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on buying a house!
Two out of the three portfolios that I reviewed were pretty lackluster too. As you say, though, it's also useful to look at what you don't want to do. Since I'm not currently in a classroom, I'll be pulling a lot from what we've done in the program so far.
I agree that it's challenging to come up with a culminating project idea. I've considered a couple, but still haven't settled on one yet.
Nick my man! I know the feeling of being buried and have no air to breathe! Congrats by the way on the house! Anyway, all I can say is that you are not alone. There are only two classes left and only 49 days left in the school year! After that you are free to hang out, go fishing, drink wine (on your parents tab that is) OR teach summer school if you dare! I hope this class is not going to be as bad as I think it is and I am here for you if you need someone to gripe to! :)
